Maid of Honor / Sister Speeches – He’s not squeaky clean

Maid of Honor / Sister Speeches – He’s not squeaky clean

If the groom isn’t the white collar type kind of guy in his everyday attire or if there has been a silly mistake on their first date, it can make for great speeches material.

“Irene always said that she liked a bit of rough, but nothing prepared me for the first time I met Sean. He’d just got back from work on the building site and was covered, head to toe, in muck. His hair was stuck on end, his face was covered in dust, his clothes were caked in mud and his hands were blackened with grease. This was going to be difficult. How could I possibly pretend to her that this oil slick in front of me was an Adonis? But when he started talking, it all fitted into place. His charm, his humor, his compassion and his generous spirit shone through. And as you can all see today, he’s not bad looking when he scrubs up, either.”

“Life hasn’t always been a bed of roses for Ken and Emily. Although you might think butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, he’s had to do a fair bit of groveling to get to where he is today. On their first date Ken got so drunk that, at the end of the night, he gave $20 to Emily and his phone number to the cab driver.”
